Abstract

This paper analyzes the processes of meaning production for the Brazilian subject in the media discourse about television and digital television in Brazil. Using the theoretical and methodological assumptions of the Discourse Analysis, which considers the speech as “effect of meaning” and focuses the relationship among language, history and subject in the constitution of meaning, we aim to reflect on the position of consumer, who belongs to the Brazilian audience. With this research, we therefore reflect on the role of media in the constitution of subject positions in Brazilian society related to the studies on the urban subject in contemporary
times and his verbal interference in the history.
