Abstract

Sexual education is a polemical theme. In our society, there are at least two discursive positions related to this theme, which are in confrontation in order to decide which one is the most qualified to instruct the citizens about a proper and healthy sexual conduct: a secular and a catholic. In this article, it is presented an analysis of how the formulations “sexual education” and “safe sex” are appropriated by these two positions and how they are transformed and adapted
according to criteria which arise from the semantics of each one of them. In this study, the theoretical proposals of Maingueneau (2005 [1984], 2006) and Krieg-Planque (2010 [2009]) are considered.
