Abstract

Linguistics is one of the tripods of the Discourse Analysis and because of Ferdinand
de Saussure Pêcheux brought linguistic theory to his Discourse Theory. Considering these facts, we aim, in this work, to analyse the Saussure’s influences on Pêcheux’s work; to identify some Saussure’s concepts that were problematized by Pêcheux in the Discourse Theory and also to examine the expansion of Saussure’s concepts according to Pêcheux’s theory. We refer to the issues raised by Saussure in the Course in General Linguistics which were discussed by Pêcheux in the development of his theory during the first and second moments of its trajectory.
