Abstract

National Common Curricular Base (BRAZIL, 2018) presents, as one of the skills to be developed in reading and producing texts, analysis and interpretation of voices, originating from various quotations, such as direct speech and indirect speech. In this sense, this article aims to analyze the voices in direct speech in a digital journalistic text about an environmental crime in Brazil. It is thus based on the dialogic conception of language proposed by Bakhtin (2011) and Volochínov (2009), and on Authier-Revuz (2004, 1998) and Maingueneau (2001) for the identification of direct speech. As a result, the voices highlight the sensationalism typical of the genre analyzed, which can support the work of the Portuguese Language teacher in teaching voices in a critical way.
