Relações entre autor(a), tradutor(a) e revisor(a) na prosa literária contemporânea

Abstract

This article aims to compare the representation of the author, the proofreader and the translator in two contemporary novels: História do cerco de Lisboa (1986, The History of the Siege of Lisbon), by José Saramago, and Essa gente (2019), by Chico Buarque de Holanda. The representation of these profiles in the literary diegesis gained special emphasis in the 1990s with the so-called “fictional turn” which paved the way for the study of the fictionalization of figures/characters who portray writers, readers, translators, editors, proofreaders and interpreters in literature and other arts. The underlying assumption is that the universe of fiction is a privileged position to observe how characters whose professional lives are linked to writing and rewriting texts are characterized, and how their interaction takes place in a world created for them.
