Abstract

This paper aims tostudy the informational continuity and progression in two narrative sequences extracted from a sociolinguistic interview. This study conducted the mapping of referential chain of sequences in order to understand the management of referents, as well as the linguistic clues (pronouns and nominal expressions) that signal the management. Following the method proposed by Modular Approach for Discourse Analysis, the study found that the progressions occur within each episode of the sequences even when there is distant discursive concatenation.
