Abstract

This article conducts a discursive analysis of how teacher’s image is constituted as a property, sometimes as a first necessity and sometimes as a commodity. The corpus analyzed is composed of covers of national magazines devoted or not to professional teachers. There is the prevalence of two discursive formations related to the teacher: one conditioned by Christian morality and another conditioned by economic principles.
