Abstract

The present study investigates the interrelation between caipira /R/ and sex variable, considering data from Campinas native accent. The selected corpus consists of data collected with twelve informants from the countryside cities in São Paulo state. These data were recorded and we undertook acoustic and statistic analyses. The adopted theoretical reference was the acoustic phonetics, added to the Sociolinguistic framework.
