Leitura em aulas na graduação: projeções de letramentos por ingressantes no ProFIS Unicamp

Abstract

Based on the application of a didactic material, we investigated what freshmen students atProFIS Unicamp (Unicamp's Higher Education Program) think about required reading practices before undergraduate classes. We drew on sociocultural studies of literacies (Street 1984; Hamilton, 1998; Kleiman, 1995), especially Lea and Street (2014), according to whom academic literacy practices can be hybrid in terms of the ways in which freshmen students experience them. The analysis showed that the students choose different strategies to complete the proposed reading, which indicates the possible heterogeneity of literacy practices and decisions in their academic daily lives. These findings can support teaching work, as they allow us to understand some of the challenges faced by newcomers, in order to improve the interactions and activities promoted (reading, production or reflection on language).
