Abstract

This study explores the perceptions, attitudes, and opinions of first-year students in the Pedagogy program at Unicamp (2023, n=43) regarding the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) in the university context. It is an exploratory research study that employs a virtual questionnaire applied in the classroom. The data obtained are analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively and organized into two main blocks: (i) correlations between the use of technologies and perceptions, and (ii) positions on the use and prohibition of digital and AI technologies in the academic context. The findings indicate a greater use of digital technologies in non-academic activities, restrictions regarding the use of AI in academic contexts, and concerns about its impacts on professional training. These findings contribute to understanding how the first-year students in a pedadogy course participate in academic-scientific literacy processes with the support/mediation of digital technologies and AI.
