Abstract

This research aims to investigate the conception of language that underlies the speech of Languages undergraduate students. The study is based on the conceptions of thought, the language expression, the instrument of communication and the form of interaction. It is based, also, on the concept of dialogic interactionism, the concept of enunciative(s) heterogeneity(s) and the concept of subject’s attitudes in relationn to language. The data consists of texts written by Brazilian undergraduate students. According to the results, the conception of predominant language is connected to first language learning in accordance with a prescriptive-normative perspective.
