Abstract

This article presents a discussion on the issue of methodology in Neurolinguistcs, a hybrid field constituted by the theoretical-methodological paradigms of Neurociences and Linguistics. At first we present, critically, the main frameworks of quantitative researches, which reduce the complexity of phenomena in order to postulate abstract models, understood as scientific. On the other hand, the qualitative approaches, commonly seen as non-scientific, focus on individual, singular data, which are characteristics of the real functioning of the linguisticcognitive
system. The discussion also considers the ethics in human sciences researches, closely linked to theoretical and methodological choices made in order to account for the phenomena and, especially, to deal with real subjects.
