O processo de simulação na construção do sentido em narrativas

Resumo

O objetivo deste artigo é propor uma explicação de como simulamos mentalmente referentes e cenas complexos a partir de simples pistas linguísticas. Como hipótese, acreditamos que a construção do sentido se baseia na codifi cação de representações perceptuais e motoras de entidades e trajetores descritos linguisticamente, como movimento, forma, orientação e localização. Nessa perspectiva, além da capacidade linguística, outras capacidades cognitivas, como percepção, memória e atenção parecem desempenhar papel crucial na compreensão de textos. Para elaborarmos a proposta, baseamo-nos em investigações da Inteligência Artificial, Neurociências, Psicologia Cognitiva e Teoria Neural da Linguagem, cujas pesquisas nos revelam alguns constructos neurocognitivos utilizados durante a compreensão de textos, como esquemas e frames, por exemplo. O foco na narração se deve ao fato de histórias constituírem microcosmos de eventos baseados em experiências cotidianas que incluem pessoas realizando ações em função de objetivos e eventos que apresentam obstáculos a esses objetivos, conflitos e reações emocionais.
