Word finding difficulties following temporo-parietal lesion

This article is part of a broader study that aims to describe and analyze the difficulties with lexical selection and production of paraphasias in cases of aphasia. At this point, we propose to present some issues related to lexical-semantic functioning in patients with temporal-parietal lesion, from the perspective of Enunciative-Discursive Neurolinguistics. We present a review
of the literature on the phenomena that involve the lexicon, both in normal and pathological states. We evaluated data from two aphasic subjects, in dialogical contexts, formulating some
hypotheses that would explain not only the difficulties, but also how the subjects reorganize their enunciation, in order to achieve their “discursive intention”, based mainly in the formulations of Luria (1986) on the theme.
