Saussure between the general and the specifc: the Lithuanian case

The study of specifc particular languages contributed to the development of Saussure’s theoretical project, as it is known today. Among these languages we can highlight the study of the Lithuanian, which among many others studied by Saussure, seemed to have contributed in a unique way to the theoretical construction of what it is now known as Modern Linguistics. Therefore, we intend to investigate Saussure’s studies on Lithuanian and analyze how the way that this language may have contributed to the development of Saussure’s theoretical project.
