Bakhtin and a Portuguese textbook: do the practice and theory dialogue?

Abstract

This article aims at analyzing some aspects of the construction of interaction in the book Prática de texto para estudantes universitários (2011 [1992]) This book, as well as its authors’, Carlos Alberto Faraco & Cristovão Tezza, theoretical works compose the study corpus of a broader research, in order to recognize and analyze the reflexes of the dialogic conception of discursive interaction, from its materiality. The chapter analyzed was As linguagens da língua- II, which proposes teaching discursive (language) genre. Considering that the genre presentation will not allow students to recover the text meaning, because it is disconnected from their real using conditions, we conclude that this student will not be exposed to the concrete utterances, disregarding Bakhtinian conceptions on discursive genres.
