Appropriation of the discourse about the theoretical concepts in academic writing

This study aims at analyzing linguistic marks of appropriation of the discourse of the other authors by analyzing of variation and change in written four dissertations, which were defended in 1979, 1989, 2000 and 2011, and selected on the Public Domain – Capes. In the analysis, we follow the Theory of Enunciation, more precisely, the enunciative heterogeneity proposed by Authier-Revuz (1998, 2004), regarding dialogism, and the concept of ethos defended by Maingueneau (2011), regarding the personality that the enunciator assumes to give a speech. The results show that the researcher interacts with the discourse of the other authors and prepares his writing with traces of a saying which is not his own by appropriating the discourse on concepts of variation and change. However, from the moment when there is a dialogical process, the speech produced may be appropriate for who writes it. In this dialogical process, the researcher can also take a position of a third person guarantor when he uses speech as another form of support to your say.
